March in numbers: the Sundays
The latest ABC figures continue to show mixed results for the Sunday papers. Compared to the previous year, the print circulations of all Sundays remained in decline in February. However, when viewed alongside the January figures, some publications performed better than others.
The Sunday Times, Sunday Express, Daily Star and Sunday People have exceeded their January figures, while the Mail on Sunday and Sunday Telegraph continue to plummet. The Sunday Mirror registered the greatest decline in circulation over the month—printing 18,257 less newspapers in February than January. With a drop of -20.18 per cent, it also displayed the greatest year-on-year decline overall for a Sunday paper. However, it’s worth noting that, unlike some titles – such the Sun and The Times – publisher Trinity Mirror’s figures do not include bulk sales.
