Eat, drink and explore
By Gemma Combellack7th June 2017
London knows its food and is vying for its place as one of the best cities to eat in the world. It’s one of the main reasons I love living in the capital, and I never need an excuse for heading out to try the latest must have dish. This month, Londoners are spoilt for choice on food and drink highlights with London Food Month, Taste of London and London Wine Week all taking place. The vast number of events lined up over the next four weeks is a little overwhelming so I have selected some of my top picks.
London Food Month
The Night Market line up just keeps on getting better and better. We’re delighted to announce @clawfood will be joining us this June with all their seafood deliciousness 🦀😋. If you haven’t got your Night Market tickets yet, head to www.londonfoodmonth.co.uk (link in bio) and grab them now. #londonlovesfood
London Food Month is taking over the city for June with a host of events, masterclasses and one off evenings to celebrate the finest of London nosh. At the heart of the celebrations is the Night Market, taking place in Kensington and featuring 50 food stalls, from street food traders to some of London’s most prolific chefs and restaurants. The Eulogy team is heading down next week and already have eyes on the crispy duck salad, by The Ivy, and the truffle cheeseburger by Mews of Mayfair.
If drinks are more your thing Searcy’s in Westfield is going to be doing Women in Champagne masterclasses where you can discover the stories behind the champagne houses that were influenced by women, whilst sipping serves of the beloved beverage. Ketel One is also doing vodka brunches across the city and you can make your own liqueur at Balls & Company. There are over 400 events in all, so plenty to keep you busy!
Taste of London
Taste of London is also taking over the city, with the main event taking place at Regents Park, for five days next week. Attracting some of the world’s biggest chefs, restaurants serve up taster size versions of their signature dishes (like the Duck and Waffle). This year they have also introduced dishes from London’s “Taste Makers” Clerkenwell Boy, Melissa Hemsley and Laura Jackson, who will be serving up dishes too. Alongside this there will be a host of workshops and tastings, including some rather special food and beer pairing experiences by our client Sharp’s Brewery, so be sure to pop along.
London Wine Week
Looking for your new favourite tipple? London Wine Week is here to point you in the right direction. Running across the city and offering £5 wine flights from some of London’s finest bars it’s a great way of discovering new places, and drinks, in the city. There is also going to be a three day pop-up vineyard in East London as part of the celebrations.
June isn’t going to be kind to the waistline or your bank balance but it’s a great month for getting out and exploring the very best that London has to offer.
What are you waiting for?
