Everybody’s talking about... The Special Relationship

Above the Fold

4th December 2017

Just in time for December, our favourite human click-bait, President Trump, retweeted Islamophobic videos by British far-right group Britain First on the 29th.

This prompted a public scolding by Downing Street which said he was wrong to share videos from an extremist group.

The following day, Trump hit back. In a new tweet addressed to Prime Minister Theresa May, the President advised that May should not “focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!”

He’d first tagged the wrong Twitter account, sending his statement to a different user with just six followers so he fired it off again.

Communities secretary, Sajid Javid said Mr Trump had endorsed the views of “a vile, hate-filled racist organisation who hates me and people like me”.

It seems the Lord Chamberlain’s office has been handed yet another excuse to let the Tippex loose over the state visit calendar.
